I am currently a second-year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School. I am troubled by the current state of healthcare, especially the management of chronic diseases driven by metabolic dysfunction. I am upset by the symptom-treating, specialist-focused, myopic version of medicine that has been shaped by economic forces. I often think about running away from a career in medicine but I truly believe we need advocates for change within the institution as well as beyond it.
I created this blog because I have a lot of thoughts that I would like to give a place to live to help develop my own philosophy of practice. I have also chronicled some of my racing adventures as athletics is one of my long-time passions.
